South African artists are leading the industry all over Africa. What could be the key to this development? Consistency.

Amapiano artists brought out a new popular genre in 2020. In 2021, they had to grind their teeth to bring out even better music than the previous year.

In this article we will take a look at the most improved Amapiano artists from 2020 to 2021.

  1. MDU aka TRP & Bongza

Signed in 2020 by Scorpion King, MDU aka TRP and Bongza played a role in Mr JazziQ’s hit sing Askies. With a first EP release in March 2020 and collaborations with top artists like Kabza, MDU aka TRP remains consistent in releasing quality music.

  1. Felo Le Tee

With a remix of Prince Bulo’s Amagama, Felo Le Tee announced himself as an undisputed star in the Amapiano music industry. He has further collaborated with stars like DBN Gogo in various projects. His tracks such as Bopha, iPiano and 66 are hit songs today.

  1. Boohle

The Siyathandana vocalist has upped her game big time in 2021. After featuring on Busta 929’s hit song Ngixolele and Cassper Nyovest’s 2021 Amapiano hit song, Boohle gained a massive following for herself. Signed to Waltz Music Group, Boohle is capable of delivering excellent quality.

  1. Mellow and Sleazy

These Amapiano producers are no doubt two of the best the industry has. The artists featured Junior De Rocka and Lady Du on the hit track Catalia. Another of their hit songs is 10111 which is one of the most played songs in South Africa.

  1. Young Stunna

Signed to Piano Hub, Stunna released his debut album Notumato which has since catapulted him to the top of the charts in the country. One of the top songs in South Africa today is Adiwele which is a song by Young Stunna featuring Kabza De Small.
